There are "m" red balls and "n" green balls in a bucket. p balls are drawn from the urn and if found that all of them are green then what is the probability that another ball drawn from those remaining will also be green? Assume p < n

  1. p-n/m+n
  2. n-p/m+n-p
  3. p-m/m+n
  4. m-p/m+n-p

Answer: Option(B)

Firstly p (where p<n) balls are drawn from the Bag, and all are Green.

That is nCp,(where p<n) And total Green Balls Present  in the Bag are

= n-p.

Total Balls left in the Urn(Bag) now (Red +Green)

= (m)+(n-p).

Probability that the next Ball now going to be picked is Green

= n-p/(m+n-p).
