Choosing a GATE Paper

Hi!

I am a B.E Medical Electronics graduate. I wish to go my M.tech in Medical Imaging in IIT-Kharagpur. Since my core subjects were not CS/EC/EE/IN, I am confused on which paper I need to write in GATE to be considered.  

1. If I write XE-B paper will my chances of getting in be low?

2. Which paper do you suggest I should write given my background?  Please Help!!

You can see the previous papers on all these. Last year AIR 1 in CS was from ME. But he did ME from IIT and hence his maths and thinking ability would be good. No one can clear any GATE paper without knowing the basics properly.
