In self referential relation we always need 1 table.

False statement , for m:n we need 2 tables.

If there is a total participation of one entity with the relation,we can can merge E1,the relation and E2  into a single table.

yes , True , total participation with 1:1 with one side / both sides of a relation gives 1 table .
