2 votes 2 votes Distinct Rings - each can be worn in either of 3 fingers , therefore, each ring = 3 ways total ways = 3 * 3 * 3 * 3 ways Aashish S answered Jun 17, 2017 Aashish S comment Share Follow See all 3 Comments See all 3 3 Comments reply anonymous commented Jun 18, 2017 reply Follow Share Testbook test series are good for gate 2018 ??? 0 votes 0 votes Kaluti commented Jul 10, 2017 reply Follow Share should not be answer in this way first select 3 fingers out of 10 then for first ring there are 3 options * for 2nd ring 2 options * for 3 ring 3 options * for fourth ring no option here. therefore 10C3 * (6) = 720 /2! 2! for becoz in both hands same set of fingers answer comes out to be 360 here correct if i am wrong 0 votes 0 votes joshi_nitish commented Jul 10, 2017 reply Follow Share @Kaluti, you dont think qsn has explicitly mentioned "4 rings in 3 perticular fingers"..so we dont need to select 3 fingers, if the question had been "4 rings in 3 fingers"..then i think we should select 3 fingers also.. 0 votes 0 votes Please log in or register to add a comment.
0 votes 0 votes I think the answer should be more intuitive: 3*4*5*6=360. okay let us count one by one: Total choices for 1st ring : 3 (as we do have 3 fingers empty) 2nd ring : 4 how? (3 choice for the ring and one below first one) 3rd :5 same 4th : 6 same concept and thus total it will be 360 . ps : its all about if you put 1 ring in any one finger you have 2 choices for the same finger . #correct_me_if_i_am_worng saxena0612 answered Jul 10, 2017 saxena0612 comment Share Follow See all 0 reply Please log in or register to add a comment.
