Distinct Rings -  each can be worn in either of 3 fingers

, therefore, each ring = 3 ways

total ways = 3 * 3 * 3  * 3 ways

I think the answer should be more intuitive: 3*4*5*6=360.

okay let us count one by one:

Total choices for 1st ring : 3 (as we do have 3 fingers empty)
2nd ring : 4 how? (3 choice for the ring and one below first one)

3rd :5 same

4th : 6 same concept and thus
total it will be 360 .
ps : its all about if you put 1 ring in any one finger you have 2 choices for the same finger .
