Distance Vector(DV) is an algorithm.Routing Information Protocol(RIP) is protocol which uses DV.What to we mean when we say DV protocol? Is DV protocol another name for RIP?

No. Dv and RIP are not same.

The RIP is a protocol implemented using DV which is used for managing the routing table within AS (Intra- Autonomous system).

  Distance Vector is an algorithm that is used to manipulate the routing table of the routers in the network.

DV can be viewed as Network wide algorithm whereas RIP is implemented in AS responsible for managing the packets inside AS.
