Let size of cube = s

And % error of side = Δs/s * 100 = x (given)

Then volume = s3  = f(s) 

So relative error of volume = Δ(s3) /s * 100 which can be rewritten as :

                                       = 3 (Δs/s) * 100 [Using exponent rule of finding errors]

                                       = 3x

Hence the correct answer is 3x and hence B) is the correct option

question is ambiguous and so is ans it is not mentioned %error is +ve or -ve  ans will be different for both

e.g if edge of cube is of 10 units then its volume is 1000 cubic units

now suppose there is 20 %error (-ve) in measuring then incorrect volume will be 8x8x8=512

and %error=488/1000=48.8% which is none of the given option

and if same error is +ve the we get volume as 12x12x12=1728  and %error as 728/1000=72.8 % which is again none of the given opion
