 Here in message switching,  each message is treated as an independent unit and includes its own destination  address by its own. Each complete message is then transmitted from one device to another through inter-mediate nodes. Messages were routed in their entirety, one hop at a time .

well definitely answer cannot be packet and data switching...but im confused as  answer between circuit and message switching.....what does it mean by saying data is sent as complete unit??

There is nothing like Data switching , this term " Data Switching " is given in question to confuse students.

In case of " Circuit switching " a dedicated channel (or circuit) is established for the duration of a transmission. 

But in question , see it use intermediate node , where no dedicated channel use, in intermediate nodes hop by hop data is transferred which is only done in message switching hence circuit switching can not be an answer.

hmm got it sir...nd somewhere in frouzan i had read that packet switching is categorized into datagram switching and virtual ckt switching..that is why i thought of data switching.
