Question

How progress and bounded wait are different? and how bounded wait can fail in case of only two processes?

Progress is basically "the decision making of whom to enter into CS will be taken by the process who are willing to enter into CS. other process can not take the decision whom to enter into CS. "

whereas bounded waiting is "once the process has put a requenst to enter into CS it should be responded in finite ammount of time."

ok..I got the difference..one thing I have confusion in is..between 2 processes only how bounded wait condition fails.

Consider there are two processes p1 and p2 which are willing to enter into CS now currently p1 is in critical section. when p1 comes out of the CS it will set a flag false then after only p2 can enter into CS so as soon as p1 comes out the context switch occurs so the flag is not set to false yet and the control goes to p2. but the condition will be failed until the flag of p1 is set  so p2 can't enter into CS. now again context switch occurs and control goes to p1 it will set a flag to false and continue to p1 only and enter into CS again so this may happen many times will violate the bounded wait condition... this will not happen every time but it will depend on the kind of code u r using for Entry section and exit section... refer galvin for this its having wonderful explanation about this..
