I request all the seniors here to guide for ISRO and ISI  prep., I searched Web but not able to get any useful link. Kindly if possible , provide link under this post of all those material which can be useful apart from prev years question paper as they are on GO itself.

The new subjeccts which were not in GATE, how to tackle those as there are many ppl like me who have studied those subjects 2.5-3 years ago and do not remember much. Hope to get some helpful responses out of this.

I have appeared isro twice in past two times.both the time i just prepared with gate and didnot read all those new subjects(software engg,graphics etc).frankly speaking without those subj you will find 85% questions from the topic of gate.so you can easily get above 140 (last time cutoff) with those.

And one more thing regarding isro is you have 90 min to solve 80 questions.So its clear you cant solve all questions.If you solve 50-65 question (each carrying 3 marks) you can crack it easily.So dont get worried for those subj and prepare for gate subj only.

`@ KISHALAY DAS any suggestion for BARC exam?

For barc also if you just prepare as per gate syllabus you will go through...

They ask few questions regarding java and C++...that u can solve if u have good command on those languages...

But again if u just prepare ur gate subjects you can easyly crack the written test.

For intervw of both isro and barc have a good depth on subjects and ur final yr project.

Written test for Both BARC and ISRO are straing forward
BARC interview is more tougher and longer than ISRO
(My experience)

Cut-off for ISRO might go high this year as only 9 vacancies are there for CS this time , out of these 3-4 might be reserved for SC/ST/OBC  leaving only 5-6 seats for general.

Last year 50 vacancies were there for CS

No idea for ISI , but I've heard that mathematics level is a bit tougher. Better check previous year papers to get a clear idea

@Mohit,

Best thing would be to check previous year papers of ISRO to get a clear idea as the level may vary for person to person.
