waiting time means total time u were nt using CPU....it can be calculated by subtracting
total time u spent inside the system(TAT)-time u used CPU(BT)

response time means first time at which u hit the CPU.....like if a processs nees BT of 8 units and arrived at 2 units and first time u scheduled it at 2 only then response time will be 0 units as it arrived at 2 and also got scheduled at 2 only..

i couldnt see the question u have posted as i havent given that exam...but the concept is this..

u have 2 processes A and B with BT as 4 and 3 units
A arrived at o and B at 1
now schedule
A(0-2) B(2-4) B(4-5)
A arrived at 0 and first scheduled at 0 only so response time is 0
B arrived at 1 and scheduled at 2...so response time is 1
