A certain hard drive rotates at $6000$ $rpm$. It has $1 KB$ per sector and averages $128$ sectors per track.

Consider the following statements:

  1. The average latency of the drive is under $6$ $milliseconds$.
  2. The burst data rate of the drive is over $10 MB/sec$.
  3. The average capacity per track is over $1 MB$.

Which of the  above statements is/are true?

  1. II and III only
  2. I, II, and III
  3. I and II only
  4. II only

Statement 1:

6000 rpm

6000 round in 60second

1 round= 60/6000=10ms

in 10 ms

so average latency=10/2=5ms  satisfying

statement 2

in one entire rotation, a track is read

track=sector*sector size=128KB

so 128KB is read on 10ms

10ms->128KB

1000ms=1s->128*100=12800KB=12.8MB

1 so stament 2  satisfying

Statement 3:

Track capacity=128 sector*sector size=128KB ...Not satisfying

so C is correct answer
