This is absolutely true that increasing pipeline depth would increase the throughput of the system up to a certain limit because having more pipeline stages increases the number of instructions that can be executed per time...you are also true that there are more chances of stalls in case of branch insn...but in question nothing is asked related to stalls so better to take this in a simple way.
