Read the following statements carefully:

“Studies show that there is hardly any difference between human beings and apes in their psychological capacities. The studies are, no doubt, inadequate.”

The argument above assumes that:

  1.     Human beings and apes do not have highly developed psychological capacities.
  2.     The studies on mammals are often misinterpreted.
  3.     Objectivity is nearly impossible in psychological studies.
  4.     There is a clear difference between the psychological capacities of human beings and apes.
