Answer is A) i.e. 4.

In the question they gave for what value of x will the matrix is singular.

Singular Matrix have always determinant equal to 0

 apply determinant:-

8(0*0 - 2*6) - x(4*0 - 12*2) + 0(4*6 - 12*0) = 0

-96 + 24x = 0

x = 4

Hence Answer is A) 4.
