Virtual memory is used to carve up the Physical Memory into Frames, and the process into Pages — with which we can load up pages of a process in the Physical Memory; hence, effectively loading only a part of the process in the memory should we want it. Galvin directly mentions the same line of the question for Virtual Memory. Demand Paging is just the absence of prefetching of pages.
