Is it possible to have an Index file which is both dense index and sparse Index?

Certainly it's possible. You can have a new type of indexing scheme that can have both dense and sparse index. The only problem with this scheme is that it will make calculations a bit more complex. In numerical, we will need more data like number of dense and sparse index at each level (which in traditional scheme can be computed from previous level).

This is sparse I guess. Not dense. Dense must have a dedicated pointer for every record, duplicated included.
