((x^(0) + x^(1) +...........x^(p))  * (( x^(0) + x^(1) +...........x^(q)) find coeff of x^(r) in this

It is the coefficient of x^r in ((1+x+x^2)^p)((1+x)^q).

This can be solved by using generating function for first term and multiplying with the second.
