In Ethernet to handle collision detection, source transmits till twice of propagation time. It means

Tt = 2*Tp where Tt is transmission time and Tp is propagation time

Tt=M/B.W where m is the length of message and B.W is the bandwidth

M/B.W=2*Tp

Finally, M= 2*Tp*B.W
