0 votes 0 votes For the hierarchical representation TREES are used and more precisely B tree and B+ trees are used instead of BST because in B tree and B+ tree more data elements can be stored but in BST only one element is stored in a node. sandeepjkh answered Aug 30, 2017 sandeepjkh comment Share Follow See all 3 Comments See all 3 3 Comments reply Warlock lord commented Aug 30, 2017 reply Follow Share An important to point worth knowing is that B-Tree and B+ Tree both save data in the form of blocks which can have multiple store references to multiple records, unlike BST where only two references are possible. And the data is stored in the form of blocks in tape or disks. Thus B-Tree or B+ Tree is preferred. 0 votes 0 votes sandeepjkh commented Aug 30, 2017 reply Follow Share sequential search is also possible in B+ tree that could also be the reason 0 votes 0 votes rishu_darkshadow commented Aug 30, 2017 reply Follow Share Ok...and in hard disk which data structure is used ?? B+ Tree ? bcz previously i thought in main memory we use either BST or binary tree and in case of hard disk we use either B-tree or B+ tree... plzz clarify me.. 0 votes 0 votes Please log in or register to add a comment.
