answer should be option C .

bridges --> it separates two LAN's of different topology.

router --> it separates two networks of same protocol like tcp/ip to tcp/ip and ATM to ATM etc.

gateway-->  it separates two networks of different protocol like tcp/ip to ATM and ATM to X.25 etc.
