I would suggest u to go through the official gate syllabus first prior to asking this . 99% of the syllabus related doubts are cleared if one follows the official syllabus sincerely which is mentioned in the gate website itself.

By the way the topics here are : a) Symmetric and asymmetric cryptography

b) Digital signatures and digital certificates

c) Firewalls
