If k-bit maximum frame sequence numbers is available. What is the maximum window size for data transmission using the selective repeat protocol and Go Back N protocol ?

In GBN

k = ceil(logN+1) (N is window size of sender)

Hence N+1 = 2^k

Hence Max window size GBN = 2^k-1

In SR

k = ceil(log2N) (N is window size of sender & reciever)

Hence 2N = 2^k

Hence Max window size SR = 2^k-1
