Question

Consider a source computer (S) transmitting a file of size 10⁵ bits to a destination computer (D) over a network of three routers (R₁ , R₂ and R₃) and four links (L₁, L₂, L₃ and L₄). L₁ connects S to R₁; L₂ connects R₁ to R₂; L₃ connects R₂ to R₃ and L₃ connects R₃ to D. Let each link be of length 100 km. Assume signals travel over each link at a speed of 10⁸ meters per second. Assume that the link bandwidth on each link is 1 Mbps. Let the file be broken down into 100 packets each of size 1000 bits. The total sum of transmission and propagation delays in transmitting the file from S to D is ________ (in msec).

so it means at L4 we are just calculating Tp=processing dealy for second packet

yes because when 1st packet is at destination 2nd is already transmitted from R3 it just has to cover that 1msec through L4 to reach upto destination. (Take it this way)

actually i was taking propogation delay which is wrong approach
