Let the size of congestion window of a TCP connection be 38 KB when a timeout occurs. The propagation time of the connection is 100 msec and the maximum segment size used is 2 KB. The time taken (in msec) by the TCP connection to get back to 36 KB congestion window is ________

Your answer is absolutely correct.

Firstly they have asked for 36 and they have given ans for 38.

Infact if they are taking  one arrow (->) as RTT then their ans for 38 is also wrong

for 38 it should be 2800

for 36 it should be 2600

Don't worry your analysis is right only problem is that they have mistake in question instead of 36 they should write 38.

While if we take it as 38 then also the solution given by them is wrong.. There should be 14 segments. But I have seen gate question similar to this and in answer key they have given the range which will take care of this..
