In a multiprogramming environment  c) more than one process resides in the memory.

In a multiprogramming environment there are one or more than one program loaded in main memory , which are ready to execute.

Only one program at a time is able to get the CPU for execution. That means atmost one process running on the system while all the other programs are waiting for their turn.
