#doubt regarding career

Question

I am 2017 passout. Took previous year gate and ended up with 1752 rank with score 606.There was a hope that i can do better next year. I studied all along, took full time drop, left job at wipro in hope of gate. But this year proved to be even worse and with almost no progress came up with 1572 rank and 608 score. All my studies went to vain, and now i m standing in helpless situation. I m from general category, so there is no scope from any iits or good nits.
I am thinking of going to bangalore and trying of jobs, there also there is maximum demand of 2018 fresher and i m 2017 fresher.
Right now there is exam of barc, iiith, isro, isi...but i m not hoping alot from them, although i m trying to give my best.Need serious career advice...day by day i m going in depression watching my career ruined.... Plz help me.

If you are not successful in gate after one year preparation then this does not mean your career is ruined. If you left job and started gate journey then I would suggest to complete that journey. If you are. Financial stable then prepare for gate next year or take a job and prepare parallel. Don't leave in between. All the best

Yes, i have seen iiitb cutoff... It was 618 score...

You will get iiitb, trust me. This year cut-offs will be lower because there are not many toppers with 70+ marks. That's why our GATE score is less because of comparative analysis. So consider each cut-off from previous years as a bit lower for this time.

My academics is good.....overall good marks %, do they consider academics??

This time iiitb is considering only GATE score. Although, iitd considers academics.

you will get iiit definitely you should try for iiit d and iiit A and give your best for iiit h also prepare for it you have so much time to do the best.Think positive always.You can get nit allahabad which has mtech average package of more than 12lpa.so just hardwork you will achieve your goal for sure.
