In cryptography, the avalanche effect is a desired effect in encryption to ensure that a person cannot easily predict a message based on the changes in the hash value through a statistical analysis.

If an input is changed slightly (for example, flipping a single bit), the output changes significantly (e.g., half the output bits flip). 

So Avalanche effect is a desirable property of the cryptographic algorithm.
