a, b, c, d and e are 5 cconsecutive even numbers. If the sum of a and d is 162, what is the sum of all the numbers?

Suppose 5 numbers are x-4,x-2,x,x+2,x+4

now thy have given sum first and fouth no.    i.e x-4+x+2=162

2x=164,x=82  

sum of all number would be=78+80+82+84+86=410

As a+d =162
a+a+6=162
2a+6=162
a=78
b=80
