What would be the broadcast address if a host in subnet 'a' wants to broadcast a packet in network 'X'? X is a network which is divided in various subnets namely 'a', 'b', ... 'z'.

255.255.255.255 as a is present in Netowk X..

X is divided into small subnets like a,b,c,d....

If a wants to broadcast message to its subnet only then Broadcast address will be NET-ID.255.255 like that ..

but as we want to broadcast the message to all subnets in given network it will be ..

255.255.255.255

What would be the difference if broadcast address is:

NET-ID followed by all 1's  and SUBNET-ID of subnet 'a' followed by all 1's?
