Assume the propagation delay in a broadcast network is 5 μs and the frame
transmission time is 10 μs.

I know this is a very old question but since I was also looking for this I’ll try to answer this.

  1. The time is taken for the first bit to reach the destination – $5\mu s$
    1. This is the definition of propagation delay
  2. The time is taken for the last bit to reach the destination after the first bit has arrived will be – $10\mu s$
    1. Again this is the definition of transmission time
  3. The network was involved for $10\mu s$ because the total transmission time taken was $10\mu s$

Please correct me if I’m wrong
