To remove B from BD-->F we have to see if D alone can determine B, then B is redundant. I am unable to find how D alone can determine B

Look at it like this:
D-->F means BD -->BF
which is
BD-->F
and BD -->B

In the procedure of deriving minimal cover, there are two steps
1. Remove redundant attributes
2. Remove redundant dependencies
What you're trying to do is only step one. But in reality that dependency would be removed during step 2.
