How are we getting Direct broadcast address, its by placing all 1's in Host ID part 

Its class C so leaving first 24 bits it will be for n/w ID.

taking 31=>00011111

so possible n/w id's are 00000000,00010000,00011000,00011100,00011110

Then mask would be 11100000,11110000,111111000,11111100,11111110

11110000 =240  which is  option A
