I think it'll be 3 only as question ask how many memory cycle needed during the execution cycle of the instruction,

ie. for M[XR+25]=M[XR+25]+M[B]

Fetch --> Instruction is fetched from Memory(1cycle)

Decode& OF --> Instruction is decoded and operands are fetched -> two operands fetch from memory (2 cycles) and stored in temp registers

Execute--> ALU takes data  from temp registers and it executes and places the result on the bus(or register)

Write back--> the data is moved into the memory location.(1 cycle)

 

During execution cycle i am not using any memory references right ?Soumya Tiwari  abhishekmehta4u
