Question

Let waiting time of process is 'x' and  there are 'y' process in memory.CPU utilisation ???

a) x^y( x to power y)

b) xy

c) y^x

d) x+y

@Shaijal Tripathi as each process has to wait for x time units that means that the cpu is doing some work for that time i.e IT is being utilised So Cpu utilization = x*x*....y times=x^y... This was my approach..

Waiting time of each process:x

It means that each process has to wait for x units to get it turn at the CPU -> CPU is busy at that time(we have to find out CPU utilization i.e the time for which the CPU did some work).

Number of processes:y

So total CPU utilization= x*x*x...y times=x^y

We are multiplying because it is relative to the other processes also not for a particular process like it is not an independent process.. I guess..
