On dividing a certain number by 5,7 and 8 respectively , the remainders obtained are 2,3 and 4 respectively. When the number is divided by 8,7 and 5 , the respective remainders will be

A  3,3,2

B  3,4,2

C  5,3,2

In this question you first divide the number by 5 and the quotient by 7 and again the quotient by 8.

Let's say the number is x.

 

So

 

 $\frac{\frac{\frac{x-2}{5}-3} {7}-4}{8}= q$

 

Where q is final quotient.

 

Now take q as 0 and find smallest number satisfying the condition given in the problem.

 

The x will be 157

 

Divide it successively by 8,7,5 and get the remainders.

 

The answer should be 5,5,2

Let Number is x: 

5	x
7	y - 2
8	z - 3
	1 - 4

  from table:

z = 8*1 + 4 = 15

y = 7*12 + 3=87

x = 5*87 + 2 = 437

SO Ans is 5,5,2
