Lets assume the numbers as
$1, 2, 3, 4, 5$
Average = $\frac{15}{5} =3$
$3$ more numbers added
$1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8$
Average $ = \frac{36}{8} = 4.5$
Average is increased by $1.5$
