Question

Which of the following gives the predicate logic representation of the sentence “Ram was a man”?

1. Ram $\rightarrow$ man
2. $\forall x:$ Ram (x) $\rightarrow$ man (x)
3. Man (Ram)
4. Man $\rightarrow$ Ram

 

I have marked option $1$ as the answer, however, as per the answer key released by DDA, option $3$ is correct.
I want to raise an objection to this answer.

Kindly provide a reliable source which confirms the correct answer for this question.

@ankitgupta.1729 Are option (1) and (4) not predicates?? Then what are those?

@Gateasp2020 My thoughts while answering this problem.

Option (2): It doesn't make sense. Moreover, it says for all valid values of $x$, which is not the case in the problem.

Option (3): I thought this is not a legal way to represent predicates.

Option (4): I inferred the statement "All men are Ram".

 

Hence, I marked option (1).
