Speed:  UDP has no connection setup or sender-side buffering.

Flooding: UDP needs no connection state.

Fairness between competing flows: UDP has no fairness mechanism. TCP gives fairness through congestion control.

Short duration interactions: UDP has no connection setup delay and so better for short duration interactions.
