Best answer
In CSMA/CD,
Transmission delay >= 2 * Propagation delay
Tt >= 2 * 2000/(4 * 10^4) sec
Tt >= 0.1 sec

How big would the window size have to be for the channel utilization to be greater than 98 percent and the bandwidth is 1 Gbps? Suppose that the size of a packet is 1,500 bytes, including both header fields and data. The one way propagation delay is 15 milliseconds for the channel ?

Kurose and Ross || Link Layer and Local Area Networks
Suppose that a wireless link layer using a CSMA-like protocol backs off 1ms on average. A packet's link and physical layer headers are always set at the same bitrate and take a total of 125us to transmit. If a packet is sent with ... up by backoff and link/physical layer headers. Can someone help me out and explain the solution. I'm stuck here.
