An information source produces 8 different symbols with probabilities 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16,
1/32, 1/64, 1/128, 1/128. These symbols are encoded as 000, 001, 010, 011, 100, 101, 110 and
111, respectively.
(i) What is the amount of information per symbol?
(ii) What are the probabilities of occurrence for a 0 and a 1?
