I’m using standard book(kenneth.H.Rosen) for my GATE preparation. And I have a doubt regarding syllabus or propositional logic. Do I have to study the topic “Proofs” for GATE?

if U want to save your time focus only on solving relavant exercises like propositional logic and relation ,function graph theory dont bother about other stuff

No, Section 1.6 and 1.7 (Introduction to Proofs and Proof Methods and Strategy) from Kenneth Rosen (6th Edition) Not part of the Gate Syllabus....

If you skip these proof methods and strategy there is no problem….

May be you give some reading from Fermat's little theorem or Godel's incompleteness in last part of this subtopic to just have an idea about it ...

2. Basics of packet, circuit and virtual circuit-switching;

3. Data link layer: framing, error detection, Medium Access Control, Ethernet bridging;

4. Routing protocols: shortest path, flooding, distance vector and link state routing;

5. Fragmentation and IP addressing, IPv4, CIDR notation,

6. Basics of IP support protocols (ARP, DHCP, ICMP), Network Address Translation (NAT);

7. Transport layer: flow control and congestion control, UDP, TCP, sockets;
