There are only three active stations in a slotted aloha network :A,B,C.Each station generates a frame in a time slots with the corresponding probabilities $P_{A}=0.2,P_{B}=0.3,P_{C}=0.4$ respectively.

  1. What is the throughput of each station?
  2. What is the throughput of entire network?

throughput here will be the probability of successfully transmitting the data without any collision ,i.e. if A is transmitting no other station should transmit a frame.

Throughput of A : (0.2) * (1 – 0.3) * (1 – 0.4) =0.084

Throughput of B : ( 1 – 0.2) * (0.3) * (1 – 0.4) = 0.144

Throughput of C : (1 – 0.2) * (1 – 0.3) * (0.4)= 0.224

 = 0.452
