in left side select operator will chose all directors of USA then from that did will be projected then natural join( between did of USA and Directed_by it will give us all movies which are directed by USA directors then from that mid will be projected (movies id) similarly left side will give movies directed by japan director and their union will give mid of movies which are directed by usa or japan directors.
