  • Routing information protocol(RIP) packets are sent using UDP transport layer protocol with port no. 520
     
  • Open shortest path first(OSPF) does not use a transport protocol such as UDP or TCP but encapsulates its data directly into IP Packets.
     
  • Though RIP & OSPF protocols are taught under the network layer, RIP/OSPF runs in the application layer to help in table formation 
     
  • Therefore options (a), (b), (c) are false and only option (d) is correct
