 If $a : b = 2 : 3$ and $b : c = 5 : 7,$ find the value of  $a : b : c ?$

  1. $5 : 7: 13$
  2. $10 : 15: 17$
  3. $10 : 15: 21$
  4. $7 : 15: 13$

Here,    a:b=2:3     and     b:c=5:7

By seeing we get that in a:b the value of b is 3 where in b:c the value of b is 5 so, 

To make same  do this…    a:b= 2x5:3x5   and  b:c= 5x3:7x3 ..

Now, ratio becomes a:b=10:15 and b:c = 15:21  and the value of b is same in both ratio so,

a:b:c=10:15:21

Hence option (C)
