In the connection establishment phase, 3 way handshaking protocol is used where Receiver confirms whether it is ready. But after that "for every data item" receiver doesn't respond that it is ready to receive the data item. It accomplishes reliable data transfer because for every data item sent by the transmitter is acknowledged by the receiver Why can't this be the answer? 25 votes 25 votes ayushsomani commented Oct 15, 2019 reply Follow Share @MiNiPanda @Milicevic3306 @Rajarshi Sarkar Same doubt 0 votes 0 votes Pranavpurkar commented Nov 8, 2021 i edited by Pranavpurkar Apr 11, 2022 reply Follow Share MiNiPandathat’s what the drawback of 2 way handshaking is.that if receiver sends the acknowledgement then sender is confirmed that the data which it sent is reached to the receiver successfully but the receiver here is in confusion that whether the ack reached to the sender or not thats why instead of ack the receiver will send first response to make the reliable data transfer!!I think ,the best answer and the answer you said both are somewhat same and correct! 0 votes 0 votes Ritik gupta commented Dec 12, 2021 reply Follow Share @Pranavpurkar for that we use persistent timer right ,minipanda is correct i think 0 votes 0 votes Pranavpurkar commented Dec 12, 2021 reply Follow Share @Ritik gupta Persistent timer is used to deal with zero window size.(at the server’s end) 0 votes 0 votes Ritik gupta commented Dec 12, 2021 reply Follow Share yaa i think you are correct :) 0 votes 0 votes Please log in or register to add a comment.
