CPU frequency is an indicator of Processor Speed.

It tells no of clock cycles per second.

Its SI unit is hertz 'Hz'.Thats why CPU frequency is given in Hz. like 1 Mhz=106 hz......1 Ghz=109 hz

Example

1) CPU frequency is 300Hz

It means it have 300 clock cycles in 1 second

so 1 clock cycle=1/300 seconds =0.0033 seconds=3.3 milli seconds

2) CPU frequency is 3GHz It means it have 3 * 109clock cycles in 1 second

so 1 clock cycle=1/(3 * 109) seconds =0.3 nano seconds (1 ns=10-9 seconds)
