Assume that we need to download text documents at the rate of 100 pages per minute. A page is in average of 24 lines with 80 characters in each line requires 8 bits. Then the required bit rate of the channel is

  1. 1.636 Kbps
  2. 1.636 Mbps
  3. 3.272 Mbps
  4. 3.272 Kbps

All options are incorrect

Equation will be:

100 * 24 * 80 * 8 = 1536000 (Don't know why people say it is 1636000)

1536000 bits will be downloaded in 1 minutes i.e. 60 seconds and in one second it would be:

1536000 / 60 = 25600 bits

So answer should be 25.6 Kbps
