2 votes 2 votes Optimal window size = $\frac{B*RTT}{L}$ RTT = 2*Tp = 2*$\frac{1*10^6}{2*10^8} = 10ms.$ Window size = $\frac{128*10^3 * 10 *10^-3}{32*8}$ = 5. So,optimal window size is 5. If in the question RTT would have been given explicitly then in that case we can do like ur solution. But since RTT is not given, I think we should consider transmission time too 3 votes 3 votes saurabh rai commented Dec 7, 2016 reply Follow Share @^ u r right..... 0 votes 0 votes S Ram commented Dec 28, 2016 reply Follow Share i have very idiotic nd sily doubt : can someone please explain me when to consider RTT(or 2* Tp/Tt) and when to consider just Tp/Tt? please 0 votes 0 votes Please log in or register to add a comment.
0 votes 0 votes propagation delay =distance/propagation speed =$\frac{10^{6}}{2*10^{8}}$ =0.5*$10^{-2}$ =5ms Roundtrip time=2*P.delay =2*5=10ms 1sec------------128Kbps 10ms-------------? =128*10 =1280. but packet size=32B=32*8=256 SWS=1280/256 =5. santhoshdevulapally answered Dec 7, 2016 santhoshdevulapally comment Share Follow See all 0 reply Please log in or register to add a comment.
